Learning Objectives: Learning Outcomes:
The special study is a major project undertaken by
student. It is a subject in its own right and must be
satisfactorily completed in order for the student to
graduate. As an alternative to this the student can
present a record of cases.
The special study requires the student: to identify a
problem area of relevance to the theory and / or
practice of physiotherapy or occupational therapy
to carry out an investigation of one aspect of that
problem are: and to present a clear report on the
process and results of the project.
Students are encouraged to identify problems of
special interest to them that tall within the interest
areas of physiotherapy or occupational therapy
services. Students are encourages to aim towards
knowledge on the topic in the specified problem
area.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1A. Understand the role of family and community
in the development of human behavior.
1B. Develop a holistic outlook toward the structure
of the society and community resources.
1C. Identify the subtle influence of culture in the
development of human personality, the role of
beliefs and value as determinants of individual
and group behavior.
1D. Understand the social and economic aspect
of community that influence the health of the
people
1E. Learn to assess the social problem and
participate in social planning.
1F. Identify Social Institution and resources.
1G. Understand the significance of social
interaction in the process of rehabilitation.
1H. Appreciate the role of therapist as a member
of society and the interdependence of
individuals and society.
Learning Outcomes:
The student will be able to demonstrate an
understanding of the role of socio-cultural factors as
determinants of health and behavior in health and
sickness. They will be able to relate this to therapeutic
situations in the occupational therapy.
This course will introduce to the students the basic
sociological concepts, principles and social process.
Social Institutions (In relation to the individual, family
and community) and the various social factors affecting
the family in rural and urban communities in India will be
studied.
Learning Objectives : To orient the students to observe the different
clinical areas.

departments & wards of the Hospital for

At the end of the course the student should be able to
Appreciate the history and evolution of Art as a tool to wellness
Recognize and appreciate neuroesthetics and the triad
Comprehend different forms of art used as therapy
Recognize and examine psychodynamics of art therapy
Relate the significance of art therapy in clinical practice
Apply Art as a wellness and therapeutic intervention
